🎾 Garmin Fenix 3 Hr Battery Drain
Battery Drain on Firmware Version 21 - Fenix 5. I had to update to the latest firmware version (21.00) last week as I realized the Garmin Connect app has not synced with watch for over 2 weeks. Since the update, battery consumption has steadily increased from 0.32%/h from 1 Dec, to 1.6%/h today. It's total madness!
My garmin fenix Watch has stopped measuring/ recording body battery and stress levels for the last 2 days. Nothing has changed on my settings and it is still on the list of display items under ‘my day’. There is also no data on the watch widget for both stress and body battery.
First, with LiveTrack off, running mode, GPS connected outdoors, GLONASS disabled, Smart data recording, Smart Notifications disabled. I stopped it after 10 hrs 8 min, with 42% battery used. At that rate the total runtime would've been just over 24 hours, which is the factory rating. Then another test with the same settings but LiveTrack turned on.
On my 2 weeks old f5s I can see, from the beginning, what I consider as twice the expected battery loss during GPS (and swimming) activities : 20% per hour for GPS, 10% per hour while swimming (without GPS). OTOH I don't experience such huge battery drain during the night, neither during day. My f5s lost 3,5% last night in 7 hours, and it's
For me, downgrading to ANT_BLE_BT_v5.04 solved my issues and a few of us have had success doing this if you search the various power drain threads. After downgrade I am using approx 0.3% battery per hour, or put it another way over 20 hours, battery drops 6% - this is of course without any activities.
Until about 3 weeks ago the battery life on my Garmin 5 was something which impressed me the most, as I only needed to recharge my watch every 5 or 6 days. But now all of a sudden I have to charge it every 2 or 3 days. I did not change anything on the watch at all, in fact I even did a complete reset of the watch, turned off the notifications
I have battery drain on my new Fenix 6X Saphire which I have had for a couple of weeks. Within last 18 hours the battery percentage is down 23 % even though the watch was in power save mode for 7 of these hours with just about everything turned off as I do not wear the watch at night anyway. This is the built in watch face that I currently use:.
Same here. Charged to 100% last night at 2000. It is now 1800 and the battery is showing 71% charge. No activities in the last 22 hours. Battery drain seems quite excessive. AlexGrondin over 1 year ago +5. My watch is now totally unusable. I've had very good battery life for almost 2 years. I upgraded to 23.10 and battery drains in 1-2 days.
I love this watch and the fact its battery sucks is really annoying :( Update the next day: I tried reboot the watch to default and no pairing with Garmin Connect on IPhoneX. Surprisingly the batter last for like 0.25%/hour. Tried connect with the phone without download any app/face/widget, battery drop to 1%/hour.

- wrist HR : enabled (like Fenix 5) - no GPS usage (no activities so far) - 1 custom Europe map on device but not used at all until now - usual notification amount (compared to Fenix 5) - no music on device - same custom watch face as Fenix 5. I am used to a battery drain of 7% per day. This results in approx 14 days of runtime.
Last year, new Fenix 7 and Epix watches were launched on the same day, with very little to distinguish them aside from massive battery life and three size options on one (the Fenix) versus a crisp, brilliant display on the other (Epix). This year, they did the same thing, releasing Pro versions of both the Fenix 7 and Epix lines on the same day.
