4. Mar 17, 2009. #1. Our 04 plate 1.3 multijet turbo diesel has suddenly developed a turbo whine (not slippings belts). It is a low mileage car (35,000 miles). All the intake pipes appear to be in place, as I have given them a quick tug.
You need a diagnostic program that will do a forced regeneration of the DPF. Engine will need to be warmed up to normal operating temp, then the regen is started. Engine revs to around 2-2500 rpm for up to ten minutes, while the DPF contents are incinerated. Lots of heat produced, so bonnet up is recommended.

With regard to later Doblo's (Multijet) the DPF problem can be cured very easily and improve on the original performance. My engine is the 1.3 multijet diesel 95bhp. I am finding that some parts for this engine are only available from Fiat ie the engine temperature sensor cost £202.50 plus fitting. If it had been the 75bhp engine the garage could have got one for £40!!
